Weekly Email - 11/10/14

It's been a great week! We were really busy with a ton of meetings but we got in as much missionary work as we possibly could!

Monday- We had a pretty fun P Day. We got buckets and gave each other haircuts so it was a good day. We went and saw the Travellers, I don't know if I mentioned this before but Chris Traveller has cancer and is going through chemo right now but is trying to be more active. Some of their member friends in the ward and came along too and talked to them about getting their patriarchal blessings!
Tuesday-We went to Zone Conference down in Wichita. It was really good. A big focus in the mission now is working with Less Actives and finding new investigators through them. We've been trying to do that a lot this last week and we've definitely seen an increase in the solidity of our investigators. But we didn't get back until pretty late so that was pretty much it for our day.

Wednesday-We did some service at the local hospital pushing a book cart around to a bunch of the patients and playing some wheelchair roundup. After that, we did some weekly planning and then saw a couple named Mallory and Darnell that we've been working with and committed them to live the Word of Wisdom. It will be a struggle for them but they were pretty committed to trying. We had to go down to Newton for our coordination and ward council meetings and that was it for our day.
Thursday-We had district meeting and lunch and weren't able to get back to McPerson until about 3 or so. We met with a couple potentials and then had dinner with the Arnett family. After dinner we drove out to a little town called Hillsboro were we have an investigator who plays football for the Taber college team. His name is JR and he is way cool. He is from Arizona and his high school coach introduced him to the church and he's gonna get baptized by him when he goes home once the semester is over.
Friday-We had Zone Training in Hutchinson and got some great training of having more vision and passion and how to find through the rescue of less actives. We saw an investigator named Ashley and put her and her daughter on date for the Saturday after her birthday. It's not until the middle of December but she'll probably need that long anyway to live the WoW and get Sundays off from work.We saw some less actives and tried to identify and find other less actives that we could work through and met a cool part member family named the Stewarts. One of them named Kaitlyn is going to get married soon and she wants her fiancee to take the lessons!
Saturday-Went hard today and found a bunch of other Less Actives that we can work with that have non member family or friends. We went into probably the smokiest house of my life. Some guy that smokes like a chimney and is a self proclaimed prophet.. We saw the Travellers again. They are doing pretty good and Chris is going to make it to church and give us a ride again!
Sunday-Chris came to church again! We didn't get anyone else to come though. JR wasn't able to make it and we aren't really sure why. He's been having some opposition to the whole thing from his family. But after church we took one of the young men out with us and saw a bunch of investigators but only for a short time each. Darnell said that him and Mallory are struggling with the Word of Wisdom but he really wants to come to church and know if it's true. We had a cool member family feed us dinner, the Kahles and then we saw some crazy investigators named Randy and Stacey.

Well there's how the week went. Everything is going well! Me and Elder Bradshaw get along great and we've been having a lot of fun!
Love you all!
Elder Boman

This sunset was out of control!
