So tomorrow is transfer day and... We are both staying! Elder Bradshaw and I should have a great next transfer and I'm excited to see what we can do in these next 6 weeks.
Monday-E mailed and then went down to Newton and hung out with the Spanish elders and recorded a super dope song. I'll have to send it home next week! We had dinner with the Kynaston's and then saw the Travellers and watched the Restoration video with them.
Tuesday-We had district meeting and lunch down in Newton and then came back and saw a couple of potentials but nothing too solid and then had dinner with a cool member couple, the Pavlovski's. I can't really remember what else happened today. Must not have been anything too crazy! haha
Wednesday-We had weekly planning and then did some service at the hospital pushing a book cart around for some patients and playing wheelchair roundup. After that, we saw an older member couple named the Overton's and talked with them about some of the referrals they gave us that we have been working with and they gave us another one to try. We had to head down to Newton again for coordination meeting and dinner with our ward mission leader and that was about it for our day.
Thursday-We went on exchanges with the spanish elders and I took Elder Malo with me. He's a super cool guy and we had a fun day. We visited the referral that the Overton's gave us and it was a really cool older couple that lived on a farm out in the countryside. They were really nice and we found out that the wife has read the BoM and knows it's true but is afraid to join because of her husband. It was really weird he didn't seem like he would really care but she said she'd join when she outlives him.. haha we'll work with her. We also saw a less active with a nonmember family but came to find that she isn't interested in coming back at all so that was a bit of a downer. She says she feels the spirit at the Methodist church but not ours... liar. We found a pretty crazy guy and then saw the Hunters and committed them to come to church once again. They're gonna make it one of these weeks! A member took us out to dinner and then we had to drive down to Newton to exchange back.
Friday-We went down to Wichita for a trainee meeting since Elder Bradshaw is just finishing up his training and then came back to Newton, had dinner with the spanish elders at a cool spanish family's house and then went to a ward movie night and watched Mountain of the Lord. Not too productive of an activity though. We didn't really get anyone to show up other than active members.
Saturday-Our neighbor that we have been teaching took us Disc Golfing at the park by our house. It was pretty fun but it was cold and windy so that made it a little less enjoyable. We saw a less active named Kaitlyn Stewart and her nonmember fiancee named Andrew and taught them the Restoration. He didn't seem to into it but I think she wants to start going back to church and I'm sure she'll drag him along. We finally got to see a new investigator we found a while ago named Tonya and she has been reading the BoM! She said it would be amazing to find out if it's true and really wants to be able to come closer to Christ. We put her on date for the 20th of December and we'll be meeting with her again this week! We saw a recent convert who has been struggling with his health named Gene and he's doing pretty good. The Travellers had us over for dinner and we had to try to pump up Chris a little. He's chemo has him pretty down and depressed.
Sunday-We had church of course and then got one of the priest age young men to come out with us. We saw Mallory and Darnell and they got work off in a couple sundays and should be coming for sure in December. We also took the sacrament to an older lady and saw a few other people. We went down to Hesston which is about 20 minutes away to have dinner at a members home and then that was about it for our week!
It was a great week! I'm glad I'll be staying with Elder Bradshaw! I'm sure we'll have another great transfer with many baptisms! Love you all!
