Weekly Email - 1/12/15

It was a good week! Transfers!! My new comp is Elder Munk fresh outta the MTC from Winnemucca, NV. He's a kind of quiet and reserved but I think he's started to come out of his shell a little the last couple of days.
Monday-P Day! Played ball and ponged. What else is there even to do on a P day??
Tuesday-Elder Bradshaw's last day. We went and saw everyone before he headed out, found a couple of new investigators, and then went and saw the Traveller's.
Wednesday-Went down to the Transfer Devotional. We played our super sick song in front of the mission. Everyone was clapping and singing along. It was like something out of a dream. I got my new comp and we drove back up to McPherson and I took him tracting in the 10 below wind chill weather. We met a pretty cool Indian family that want a BoM in their language. Then we had to head down to Newton for coordination meeting
Thursday-More tracting! found a pretty cool guy walking along named Justing and put him on date. But he has some drug issues so we'll see what happens there. The Perry's had us over for dinner and then we went and helped some friends of his move a pool table. Super catholic. not interested.
Friday-Even more tracting! We're trying to find lots of new people to work with this transfer. We had a lot of appointments fall through which was a little bit frustrating. We saw the Hunters and tired the heck out of their kids for them! That was about the only things worth noting for the day.
Saturday-Zone Training in Hutchinson. Afterwords we went to eat a pizza buffet called pizza ranch and Elder Daines at 33 pieces of pizza! That guy can eat more than the rest of the district combined!! I went on exchanges with one of the ZL's after. We saw this guy named Matthew and got into a semi bible bash, then we saw Ashley. She was really committed to coming to church this week but had to work. But she is committed to be living the word of wisdom in 2 weeks so she can get baptized!! Now she just has to do it and come to church... After that, we had a member with us and we tried to go see Justin. He wasn't there but we talked to his mom for a while and made her a new investigator! We saw a somewhat recent convert named Gene and talked to him about going to the temple so he can get sealed to his wife. He'll be starting the temple prep classes next week! We saw the Traveller's in the evening and they fed us a bunch of food as always!
Sunday-Church! The Hunters came again! No one else we had committed was able to make it though. After church, we saw a less active part member family-Ashley Frield. She's about to have a baby in a couple days but we've been working on getting them to pray together as a family and that's been going well. She really wants to start coming back to church once she has this baby and gets everything in order. We had dinner with the Perry's again and they had a couple of other member families over as well and then we saw the Travellers to give Chris a blessing before he starts his next round of chemo.
Well that was about it for this week! We've been working hard and are really excited for this upcoming transfer! It will be one of miracles! Thanks for everything!
Love you all!
Elder Boman
