Weekly Email - 8/24/15

Hello Everyone!

Things are going great in Salina! We are starting to get to know everyone that we have in our teaching pool as well as recent converts and less actives that have been worked with in the past, which is good! We still pretty much never have any idea where we are in town, thank goodness for GPS!

We had some good things happen this week with a few of the people we are working with!

Jim came to church again! He has started using a coffee replacement drink to wean himself off of coffee and should be getting baptized next month! He is just really hard to meet with because he is so busy. He really loves the gospel and church though! We just need to be able to teach him more so that he feels like he's ready to take the step of baptism.

Amanda and Steve who are part of a part member family have been doing well too! We were able to follow up with them and they have both been reading the Book of Mormon! They are working towards baptism on the 12th of September! They just need to stop smoking... which will need
some work but they are coming to a church activity this week!

We found a really cool family that we are excited to work with that was referred to us by a recent convert! They told us that they are looking for a new church now because their old one bothered them so they asked the recent convert about her church!

We also got to play basketball, eat some meals, and go on team ups with some other recent converts too! We have a bunch of them here and they are all doing awesome and are a lot of fun to work with!

We also had some not so good things happen

Jeirah, who was supposed to get baptized this coming weekend won't be now! Her mom has been really stand offish and finally said that she won't let her because she doesn't feel like she is ready and because she doesn't trust us because we are both new.. So that was a bummer!

But, things are going really good!! I'm loving Salina and the ward and people here! We should definitely be able to get Jim baptized next month which is exciting!! Thanks for all your love and support!
Love you all!

Elder Boman
