Weekly Email - 5/12/14

So It has been another great week!
Monday- We had zone P day down in Topeka which was a waste of time and miles.. It took us like 2 hours to find computers to e mail on. We ended up finding some in the state capitol building in a super cool library! We stopped on the way back to visit a few less actives: The Roudybush's who fed us dinner and the Bones who we played some ball with.

Tuesday-We started out the day meeting with Carol. She is now refuging a baby raccoon in her house! Haha and she said she is going to keep it as a pet! I guess there are quite a few people down here who do that! We met with some older guy we taught before named Dennis and gave him a baptismal date (although not solid at all), taught Teresa about Tithing, and then went to dinner with Brother Carrillo who came out with us after. We started teaching one of our investigators girlfriend's sisters who is now going to pray about a baptismal date, we threw down with some baptist preacher, and saw the Rasmussens. We got 3 new investigators!

Wednesday-Nina was the first person we saw. We taught her the Gospel of Jesus Christ and it went well but she was really non committal about church and reading. We saw Ty's mom Tonya who told us about all the problems she is having with Ty. We saw him smoking (he's 13) and apparently he is waywardly disobedient. We played some ball, had some dinner, and then saw Betty and Roderick.

Thursday- We did some service for the city. We painted like 20 park picnic tables. It took a long time! Then we mostly just followed up with people and met 3 new investigators. We visited a less active kid named Tristen and talked to his mom a little bit about the church. She has some huge misconceptions on what we are all about and we tried to help get the record straight!

Friday- We had Zone Training down in Topeka. It was pretty good, although we are probably toast for miles on this month.. Teresa had an awesome cake and present for me for my birthday! We went to go visit a referral from her and met a new investigator instead!

Saturday-We went down to Rulo and visited the Nycums and the Kelleys and committed them both to church. Although neither one came.. We saw Tonya again and she is still having a really hard time with Ty. Which is too bad because he was really interested in getting baptized but now he is never there and is causing all kinds of trouble. We saw one of our new investigators, the Binders and helped them build a counter for their sink. The Rasmussens fed us some good burgers and brats for dinner. They're doing really good! Travis hasn't chewed in almost two weeks and is getting ready to get the priesthood!

Sunday- We had no investigators and church again.. Although we did have Tristen come which was good! He'll come whenever he has a ride! We saw Teresa today and taught her and her son about baptisms for the dead and then played some ball with her son and his friend. Needless to say, we smoked them! But he is becoming more and more interested in the church so that's exciting!
Me and Elder Waite have been working hard and having lots of fun!
I love you all!
