Monday-Brother
Carrillo took us to dinner at the new Dickey's that just opened up in
town and then we went and saw Ty and his mom. Brother Carrillo shared
with him all the troubles he had in life with being disobedient and how
he wishes he could go back and change earlier in his life. Then we told
him about how his dad was in the Spirit World and is always watching
over him and he just started bawling. It was really powerful!
Tuesday-So
we met some crazy drunk guy that claimed to be a twice ordained
minister. He said he'd read the Book of Mormon so we'll see how that
goes! The Rasmussens fed us some bomb pork chops and we watched some of
Legacy with them. We went to go see Anastasia but instead ran into
Christian and a bunch of the people he hangs out with. So me and Elder
Waite split up in the throng and started to just teach everyone. It was
awesome! We got 4 new investigators and invited 3 of them to be baptized
and put one of them on date (Paul)!
Wednesday-So
we met a ton of new people today! we were able to street contact a
whole bunch of people. We met one girl in particular, Payshince, who
we've seen down at the park with the ballin' boys before. We taught her
the Restoration and committed her to be baptized June 7th. We had dinner
with our neighbors- Tom and Wendy in their extravagant antique of a
house and taught them the Restoration. They want to learn more and I
played some songs for them on the piano. They love to sing and sightread
the EFY Medley as I played and sang along!
Thursday-We
didn't get as much done today as we were hoping. We smashed concrete for
Teresa for like 3 hours. Which was way longer than we were planning!
Then, we went to some city-wide party that the telephone company was
having for customer appreciation! We got some free food there and met
some people then went straight to the Wheeler's for another dinner.
Friday-We saw
Shirley and Dennis to start our day off and it was a very pleasant
visit. Not a whole lot of progression there though. Then we went and saw
Bryan who isn't doing great because Rose should of been into treatment 3
weeks ago. But we talked to him about coming out on team ups with us
when she's gone. The we saw Sasquatch and received further illumination
on his strange Wicken ways and taught him more about the church. We
helped Kevin and Mary move across town and found a potential
investigator. We went to go see Paul after and he ditched us!
Saturday-We
saw Teresa and talked to her about church. We woke up Derrick and he
was up and ready to play immediately. He is always swearing like crazy
because he copies his older brother. It can be hard not to laugh
sometimes though because it is really funny! We had a less than
productive meeting with an older lady named Christina. She just doesn't
get it! We shot some hoops and played hackie sack with Kevin. We saw Ty
for a minute and then his mom's boyfriend came and told us she doesn't
want us to come anymore! She thinks we are trying to recruit him to go
on a mission so he won't talk to her anymore! Weird! Rose finally got a
place to do the Addiction Recovery group so we are trying to get that up
and going. Bryan took us to go meet his neighbor who we found out later
absolutely hates him. His neighbor, John, was extremely drunk and ended
up asking him to leave. He told us of his distaste for Bryan and Rose
but was actually pretty interested in the church.
Sunday-Well
Teresa was the only investigator we got to church today! We committed
like 10. Oh well! We'll keep trying! We had a potluck afterwords with
some great food. We saw Mack and went over the Restoration with him
again and taught it to some other girl that was there. She was really
non committal and an admitted drug addict ( a friend of Rose's). We
played some ball at the park and met a new potential we are going to
play with again. The Larsens fed us dinner and then we saw the
Rasmussens
Monday-For
Memorial Day the McGiffins had us and the Bones over. We played
badminton and had a barbeque! it was lots of fun. Me and Elder Waite
gave each other hair cuts.
I love you all!
Elder Boman
