Weekly Email - 7/7/14

Hey Family,
Here is my week...

Monday-P day, dinner, FHE. Routine

Tuesday-We helped our neighbors, the Giddens, move some more then had district meeting. We saw Katherine and talked to her some more about the structure of the church and the importance of the Book of Mormon. After that, we saw Jimmy and he isn't really even trying to quit drinking alcohol. We probably will end up dropping him and not spending very much time at all over there. The Morgans had us over for dinner and Sister Morgan gave us some hair cuts. Then, Brother Locklear came out with us again and we saw a family of an excommunicated and non member couple (Atchkins) and then saw some new investigator part member family the Adairs. Sean Adair has cancer and got a blessing from some other missionaries and said he'd listen to the lessons.

Wednesday-We went and mowed Gary's lawn because he is still down and out from his knee surgery. We saw a potential named Joey and gave him a pamphlet to read while he goes on a trip to Texas. He said he'd read it and that we can come back to tell him more about it.

Thursday-We had pretty much all of our plans fall through and ended up doing a lot of tracting. We met a new investigator named Candy. She has a nephew on the mission and was pretty interested in learning more about the church. We went over to a barbeque that the Giddens were having and talked with some more people there.

Friday- We had Zone Training in the morning and then when we got back we didn't really have anything to do. All of our investigators were busy on the fourth so we just went and saw some less actives. We went around to a few members homes that night because we couldn't really tract or anything on the fourth of july evening. Pretty lame! But I did get to see a few fire works. Not a whole lot though.

Saturday-Did some more tracting and met a few potentials. We went over to the Adairs again to teach the first lesson but got inhibited by a friend of his that was over. He was very religious and took us really far off track from the lesson. But we kept it from getting hostile which was good! haha He was the type that would easily go there. We taught the Dave Giddens and his son DJ the first lesson and put them on date for the 19th! We taught Brother Everett, a recent convert, the first new member lesson then went to a barbeque at Twon's. We met one of his friends that lives in town and he said we could come teach him. He's a huge guy! He plays indoor football for the Salina Bombers.

Sunday-Saw a few people in the morning and then went to church. No one came once again! We are going to be doing a lot of finding this next week to find some solid investigators who'll actually show up.

Everything here is going well! I'm loving Junction City! There are a lot of really good people here! I love you all!
