Monday-
Weird P Day. Went to a thrift store and bought a golf club, field
hockey stick, and a lacrosse stick and went and smashed rocks into the
river.
Tuesday-District
meeting then went on a an exchange with the Zone Leaders for a couple
hours in our area. We found a few new people and that was good. Brother
Locklear came out with us in the evening for a few hours and we weren't
able to get any member present lessons in. We tried like 30 people and
weren't able to teach any of them. I decided this was a sign that all of
our investigators aren't progressing so we are going to find lots of
new ones!
Wednesday- Finding all day. Found 4 new investigators and lots of potentials.
Thursday-Went
and did some service for a single sister in our ward with a less active
member. Chopped down a tree, took out a bee's nest, and did work.
Brother Locklear came out with us again and we were actually able to
find some people to teach this time. Had a good, short lesson with a
lady named Selena who said she's going to read, come to church, and be
baptized but I doubt she'll remember! haha Then we saw Sean and were
able to teach him the Plan of Salvation. He had read the pamphlet
between our visits and pretty much taught it to us! It was an awesome
lesson. He still hasn't prayed about the Book of Mormon though because
he's scared about how much he'll have to change. We are working on him
though.
Friday-Did some
more service again with the Less Active, Josh Newey. Picked up the tree
we chopped and trimmed some hedges. Got our haircut in the hood by Dro
the Barber (we were the only white guys in the place), who we taught a
lesson. I don't think he's really too excited though, I'm pretty sure he
just wanted our business. You can tell I definitely got my haircut in
the hood though. He gave me a pretty sweet fade... and a lot of razor
burn... Brother Herr came out with us this evening and we saw the Munks
and talked to them about coming back to church after a long time. We
found out they are actually Sean's parents-in-law! We saw another recent
convert and invited him out to church.
Saturday-Saw
some guy moving and decided to give him a hand. He's moving to North
Carolina and wasn't really super interested. But it was good we could
give him some help. He definitely needed it! We went to a Samoan BBQ at
the park then had dinner with the Zumbrennans, our ward missionaries.
Brother Wayman came out with us and we saw one of our new investigators
named Caroline. She seems really interested and has a lot of potential,
then we saw another less active family.
Sunday-Did some
proselyting before church. Met some guy on the street named Dromanian.
Talked to him for like 5 minutes but put him on date to be baptized on
Aug 30th! Hopefully that works out. No one showed up to church. We had a
ton of people committed and even had rides set up for a lot of them. We
are just going to keep doing more and more finding until we find people
who will actually come. The Rigby's had us over for dinner. We had
salmon.... I actually ate it though! I didn't even think it was bad!!
That doesn't mean I like seafood now though!
Well everything
is going good here! Me and Elder Mitchell are working really hard and
will find someone who is ready to be baptized soon!
I love you all!
Elder Boman
