Hello Everybody!!
It was a pretty good Thanksgiving week and we have been eating Turkey and Thanksgiving food like crazy! We're having lots of fun and working like crazy. Sorry my E mail will be a little short and non specific.. I forgot my old planner with my weekly outline!
We spent most of the beginning of the week visiting with all of the same people we have been working with. Nothing too much to update on there. They are all still meeting with us but not too much progression that we've seen.
THANKSGIVING! In the morning we went and played some b ball at the church with and bunch of ward members and then we went and helped out at a community dinner and there was a ton of people there. It was really good to get some exposure to all those people and Elder Bradshaw even made it on the front cover of the paper! (Someone in the ward writes for the newspaper and was there) The food wasn't too bad either! After that, we went to the Long family for dinner. It was pretty good and they have some non members in the family so it was good for us to be able to see them in a less threatening setting.
Friday-We had District meeting and then interviews. It was nice to be able to meet with the new missionaries in the district and get to know them better and how I can best help them this transfer. We had another Thanksgiving dinner at the Petersons and then saw Kaitlyn Stewart and her sister, Ashley. They are doing pretty well and Ashley really wants to start coming back to church. We just have to get her to get work off!
Saturday-We met with a really awesome member, Brother Pavlovsky and started making some wooden nativity sets that we are gonna give to the less actives and investigators that we are meeting with for Christmas. After that we went and saw some less actives to confirm that they were going to be able to make it to church and then went and saw Chris Traveller. He is doing really well and we made some nachos and raided his freezer. He has his next chemo treatment this week so he'll probably be pretty down again. After that, we met with some investigators named Ben and Kara. She is a little slow and handicapped but really wants to have a better relationship with God and understand why bad things happen. They said that they have been praying more and that they have seen it help a lot so we committed them to be baptized on Christmas Eve. We really hope they'll be able to make it!
Sunday-We got a ride with some of our investigators Stacey and Randy. They finally came!! They liked it but I'm not sure they'll really be able to progress much more because they aren't really willing to try to live the WoW. We'll keep working with them though. After church we went and took the sacrament to an older sister that can't make it to church and then went over to the Travellers for yet another Thanksgiving dinner! We watched the movie Temple of the Lord with them and talked with them about going to temple prep class so they can go get sealed! We followed up with some other people that didn't make it to church today and that was about it for us!
It was a pretty good week! Not too cold either!! We are working hard and having a blast! Love you guys!
Elder Boman
