Hello Everyone! We had a good week but a little busy and crazy with 2 exchanges! It's really fun to go work with other missionaries though so I'm glad I had the opportunity to!
Monday-Regular P day. Went hard playing basketball as always. For like 4 hours. Came home, had dinner then saw the Travellers.
Tuesday-We had zone training in Newton. It was really good and fun with some good trainings. Elder Swensen, one of the zone leaders, came on exchanges with me in Newton and we had an awesome day! We had a pretty good lesson with Randy (still not willing to live WoW) then went to go see an investigator we found last week named Freddy. He wasn't around but we taught his wife Joseline instead and she was really solid and prepared! We put her on date and said that she would bring her family to church! We went and saw Ben and Kara and had a pretty good lesson with them about the Law of Chastity. They know it's a commandment and that they have to live it but are just a little scared to.
Wednesday-Did our service at the hospital and then exchanged back. We met a really cool less active lady with a little girl and a non member husband and she wants us to come have a Christmas Devotional with them.
Thursday-We met with another less active lady named Heather Kuhn. She is a really cool lady and has a nonmember husband (not interested) and 3 little girls. One of them is baptismal age so we're hoping to be able to make some progress there. An older sister in the ward took us out to lunch and it was so awesome! One of the best places I've eaten on my mission. We went to one of the outlying towns to meet with a potential named Jamie that we met in McPherson. We taught them a little bit about the Restoration and showed them the He is the Gift video. They both thought it was pretty good and we were able to use it to commit them to a baptismal date, January 3rd! We met with the LA lady (Patty) that had the son who committed suicide and gave her a blessing. She is having a really hard time. She actually called later that night because she went to the hospital. She almost had a heart attack from all of the stress.
Friday-We had District meeting and it was really fun! I gave a training on finding and talking with everyone. I even used a basketball object lesson! We went on exchanges again. This time I took out Elder Daines. One of the spanish missionaries from Newton. We had a really awesome day! We found a new investigator then set up a Christmas devotional with a member that we have the Kuhns coming to. We saw Patty in the hospital and she seemed to be doing a lot better. She visited with us for a while and told us she is done smoking and will be coming back to church next Sunday! Then a recent convert and somewhat less active came out with us. We met with Freddy (Joseline was sick) and told him more about the BoM and then went and saw Ben and Kara. Kara really wants to live the Law of Chastity and is willing to get her own place but it's not looking like Ben will let her. We went home an hour early because we skipped dinner and had a sweet bonfire in our backyard!
Saturday-We exchanged back and helped the Spanish elders move all their stuff to a new apartment. We saw Randy and Stacey again. Stacey is going to be heading to Alaska for a few months so it was good to tell her bye. She said she is planning on getting in contact with missionaries up there. We had a good visit with the Hunters and then the Travellers had us over for a nice steak dinner!
Sunday-Church! No investigators came.. Joseline was sick so her and Freddy couldn't come and Ben and Kara have been sketch since we told them they have to live the Law of Chastity to be baptized and have been trying to help them live it. We stayed around after church for a while to practice in the choir for the Christmas program next week. We saw Freddy and Joseline (she seemed legitimately sick) and then another investigator named Kim. We tried putting her on date but she just doesn't see why she should get baptized again.
Well that was pretty much it for our week! It was a good busy one! We will definitely keep working hard as we try to help people really discover, embrace, and share the true meaning of Christmas!
