Well it was a pretty good week this last week. Lots of craziness but that's part of the life!
Monday-Regular P Day. Balled so hard
Tuesday-We had specialized training and a Christmas party for the missionaries in 3 zones down in Wichita. It was pretty fun and the trainings were really good. We came back to McPherson and met the Bishops son who hooked us up with a pizza and then came out on team ups with us. We saw Randy who was a raving mad man (pretty sure he was on drugs) and then Ben who wasn't much better even though he was entirely sober.. Hopefully he'll come out on team ups with us again someday! haha
Wednesday-We went to the Pavlovskys and got the nativities we've been working on nearly finished and then came home and did our studies and then went and did our regular Wednesday service at the hospital. After that, we had weekly planning and then a couple of appointments that fell through. After some last-ditch attempts to find some people to teach we had to head down to Newton for a Caroling activity. It was good but it started to snow pretty good so it was a long drive home through the snow!
Thursday-We had a good appointment with Ashley. We filled out a Calendar with her and set a SOLID date for her and her daughter's baptism on the 17th of January. She said she is committed to keeping it and she really has a desire to get baptized! She still has some hurdles to overcome with smoking and coming to church but we think she will be able to make it happen with the Lord's help! I can't really remember what else we did today except that we saw some former investigators that gave us some shady looking cupcakes...
Friday-We had district meeting and then sure enough those cupcakes wrought their vengeance. We went on exchanges after district meeting but I lasted about 20 minutes before I had to call it on the account of flu like symptoms. 10 pounds of loss of bodily fluids and hours of sleep and a day stuck in the apartment later I would finally be able to eat food again.
Saturday-Sick all day. Went to the ward christmas party but was reclusive not wanting anyone else to become infected with my affliction.
Sunday-Felt much better! Went to church and sung in the choir for the Christmas program. Quietly.. and then after church took the Sacrament to Sis. Wilson as usual and then had an awesome Christmas fireside at a member family, the Kynaston's, home. It was super good! They invited their Less active friend (Sis. Kuhn) who brought her unbaptized 8 year old daughter. We watched the nativity video the church put out shared a few thoughts and then gave them the Nativities that we have been slaving over for the last couple weeks. It was really cool though and they loved the gift! Now we just have to get them to come to church as the next step!
Well everything has been going pretty well here! Little bit of a rough week with getting sick but nothing makes up for it like Christmas! Thanks for all your love and support!
