Hello Everyone! It's been a good week in Topeka! Things have been going well!
Monday-P Day. Played some ball then had dinner with a member.
Tuesday-The
zone had interviews with President Bell so we were there most of the
day just making sure things were going alright. After all that we went
and saw one of our investigators, a 15 year old kid named Xavier and had
his member neighbor come with us too. He has been reading the Book of
Mormon almost everyday and wants to get baptized! The neighbor even took
him to the Young Men's activity the next day!
Wednesday-We
did some service and then went on exchanges. We saw James in the
hospital, he's still doing good. and then had a really cool lesson with a
guy that pulled over to talk to us last week named Gary. He met us at
the church and we taught him the Restoration. It went really well, he's
just got to get married to his girlfriend he's living with before he can
get baptized.
Thursday-We
went to some district meetings and then were able to see a lot of
people. We taught Shoneka and her family. They went to Wichita for the
weekend to go see her dad who has cancer but committed that they would
be back for church and their baptism this Sunday. We saw Xavier again
and were able to teach his mom Tokesha as well. (Don't you love the
awesome names of all the people we teach.. haha)
Friday-Went
to some other district meetings going on in the zone and then had
dinner with some members and saw a few less actives. Nothing too
eventful.
Saturday-We
went to a baptism and then a wedding/baptism in our zone. Shoneka
texted and said they weren't going to be back in time for their
interviews but that they would be back to do it before church. We saw a
few less actives and then interviewed a couple investigators for the
other missionaries in our ward. They were really cool 15 year old kids
that got baptized like 3 weeks after they met the missionaries or had
any contact with the church for the first time.
Sunday-Shoneka
and her family didn't make it back. She had to take her dad to the
emergency room and didn't get him in a room until after midnight and
then would have had to drive 2 hours to make it back to Topeka. But they
still want to get baptized! They asked when the next service would be
and we're now shooting for the 9th (birthdaytism!!!). In the evening we
saw Tamitha and her family. They are super awesome! The two teenage
girls should be coming to Young Women's this week and they are all
committed to reading and praying everyday and will all be at church next
week!
But
that's about it for our week! Things are going really well and May
should be a great month in our companionship! We hit our zone goal again
this month so things have been going well!
Love you all!
Elder Boman
