Missionary Leadership Council Meeting in Wichita - Brad's in the middle

Family,
Well it was a great week! We were expecting to have some baptisms that had to get postponed.. But that's alright! They should all still happen this month!

Monday-Had a fun P Day. Went golfing and then had dinner with a member family! It was a fun P Day!

Tuesday-We had district meetings and then coordination meeting with the STL's to get things ready for Mission Leadership Council meeting. We had a little bit of time to see Shoneka and Xavier before we headed out and they were doing good!

Wednesday-We had MLC's all day in Wichita! It was a super good meeting and we were able to identify a lot of things that we want to focus on as a result from Elder Holland's visit. We got back kind of late but had a little bit of time to go visit a few people.

Thursday-We had a good day! We saw James. He is finally out of the hospital! He is so excited for his baptism that he wrote it in on his calendar! We had a good lesson with him making sure he's all squared away to be baptized with all his chemo treatments and such. Except he ended up moving in with a different friend and not the member in our ward so we're going to have to pass him to some other missionaries... Shoneka had her baptismal interview with one of President Bell's counselors and two hours later was cleared ready to be baptized!

Friday-We went on exchanges! I was able to go with Elder Bradshaw, a former companion of mine from when I served in McPherson! It was really fun to go with him and we had a good day! It was all in his area so I don't really remember anything too much from who we saw. But we got a call from Shoneka letting us now she would be out of town and no longer able to get baptized this weekend because she just was notified that her dad only has a few days to live. So that was a bummer! We hope she'll be able to handle it ok and move forward and be baptized in a week or two.

Saturday- Birthday! We had zone training which went really well! We trained on some of the topics Elder Holland talked about and we felt really good about them! We had an awesome church tour/pass of lesson with James! He was so excited for church! I'm really bummed we had to pass him but he'll love the ward and it'll be all good! I'll still count him for myself! haha We had a member take us to a bomb pizza place for dinner and then we tried seeing as many people as we could that we had committed to church.

Sunday-So we were doing our pre-church roundup and stopped by to make sure Xavier was still good to come and be baptized. He said he was and his mom was ok with it when we were there but a few minutes after we left he gave us a call and said that his mom changed her mom and wants him to learn more and go to baptismal service before he gets baptized. Satan has definitely been hard at work in Topeka! We had dinner with a member and then got to call home! After we stopped by to see Tamitha and her family. They are doing really good. They have a really strong desire to be baptized and come to church they just haven't made it to the building yet.. But soon!

Well things have been going well! It's sort of a bummer that those baptisms fell through but we feel really good that they will still happen! Thanks so much for all of the Birthday wishes and presents!

Love you all!
Elder Boman
