Junction City is a city and county seat of Geary County, Kansas, United States.[5] As of the 2010 census, the city population was 23,353. The racial makeup of the city was 60.7% White, 22.3% African American, 0.9% Native American, 3.9% Asian, 0.9% Pacific Islander, 4.0% from other races, and 7.3% from two or more races. Hispanic or Latino of any race were 13.0% of the population. THe city is about 12.2 square miles. Fort Riley, a major U.S. Army post, is nearby and accounts for a lot of recent growth in the area.
