Weekly Email - 10/6/14

Me sporting the K State purple.

So it was a pretty good week here! Kind of slow with conference and some other meetings but still was a fun week!

Monday-Brother Wells took us out golfing and I did better than expected so that made me happy! Haha then we just did the usual. Email, shop, look for ties, and then FHE.

Tuesday-We had district meeting and I gave a training on  Moroni 10:3-5 and how we could be more effective when using that scripture. After that, we went to lunch and then had a short meeting with our zone leaders to do some stake reports. We saw some less actives and that was pretty much it for our day.

Wednesday-Weekly planning and then exchanges with the Ward Elders. I took Elder Carlson out with me to our area. He's been out a while and is a good missionary and I'm  glad I had the opportunity to take him on exchanges with me!  We had a lot of appointments fall through with people we were hoping to see but met some new people. Megan fed us dinner and her non member brother-in-law was there as well. We taught her the first new member lesson which is the Restoration so it worked out really well with him being there too. He's going to be moving to Florida in a couple weeks though so we won't be able to work with him too much.

Thursday-Had more appointments fall through today! I hate that! Did some more finding and tried to see potentials but not a lot of luck today. The Zumbrennens fed us dinner and then Brother Thomas came out with us. He took us to go meet some of his neighbors but none of them were really home. After that, we tried to see some of our current investigators but weren't able to really teach any of them.

Friday-We had zone training in Manhattan. It was really good! We had some great trainings on finding and working with members that I think will help our area a lot! Once zone training was over, we got to watch Meet the Mormons! Once we got home we helped the Zumbrennens with some service at their house and then had dinner with the Lybbert family. After dinner, we went and saw Megan. She is doing well and has been staying on top of her daily study and prayer and even working to have some co workers meet with us!

Saturday-We watched the morning session of conference at the church and then met with Ray. He has been out of town for a while so it was good to finally meet with him again. He has lots of questions and was asking us a lot about chastity. We were able to answer all his questions and told him about conference and he was pretty excited to listen to the prophet. We watched the afternoon session at Brother Thomas house and his daughter brought her friend Jasmin over that wanted to get baptized. Her dad said she couldn't though! So that was pretty lame and kind of a bummer. She liked conference though. Hopefully her parents hearts will be softened once we get to start meeting with her grandma that she lives with. We went to the priesthood session at the church and it was really good and that was it for our day

Sunday-We watched the first session of General Conference at the church and then had a pot luck between sessions. For the afternoon session, we went with the ward elders to a members home and watched it there and got lots of food. After that, we went and had dinner at the Aionos and had more food! We saw Ray again and showed him President Monsons talk in the Sunday morning session and he really liked it! If we could just get him to get over the word of wisdom he would be really solid!

Well that was about it for our week! I'm really glad we had the opportunity to watch conference and listen to our living day apostles and prophets. I think my favorite talk was by President Monson and how we need not try to walk were the Savior walked but walk AS the savior walked. There was a bunch of other really good talks too! It's hard to choose!

Love you all
Elder Boman
