Hello everybody! It was an ok week here. Elder Alspaugh and I have become much more unified as a companionship this week which is good but our teaching pool just isn't the greatest right now. Here's how our week went.
Monday- P day. E mailing and then went and played some sports at the church with a bunch of other missionaries. We had a member feed us dinner and then we visited some Less Actives we are working with Ed and Che Che. We wanted to see why they didn't come to church but we found out they just went to the wrong one! haha
Tuesday-We had district meeting and then I went on exchanges with Elder McIntire. It was a pretty pointless exchange because he had to go to the doctor and then we found out we had to take the car to the dealership to get fixed. so there goes a whole wasted day! We saw a couple less actives with their bishop and then got some food.
Wednesday-We exchanged back and then saw our cool recent convert named Mike. He's doing ok. We talked to him about getting the priesthood but he can't for a while because he is living with his girlfriend (I'm not sure how he got baptized?). But he is doing all he can to get married! We saw one of the other investigators we are working with, Brandon and taught him about tithing and he said he'd be willing to live it. He's just got to get married too! We saw Ed and Che che again and then just saw some other potentials.
Thursday-We saw Angela Mendoza who we have been working with for a while. She knows the BoM and the church are true she just doesn't want to get baptized without her family which doesn't look like will be happening any time soon. So we talked with her about setting the example for her family and being baptized next Sunday. She said she had to pray about it so I guess we will find out soon what she felt. We saw Mike again and then had dinner with a member. We tried seeing some investigators but they all fell through so we ended up taking another member out tracting with us, it was super fun! We met some super crazy cool guy that said he met missionaries from our church that turned his life around. But he joined a different church? Haha we'll follow up with him, he didn't have very much time to talk.
Friday-Did some finding and then I had to interview someone the sisters have been teaching for baptism. She was good and super ready! Then after that I interviewed the sisters. There is a new policy that district leaders are to interview everyone in their district. Even sisters! so yeah that was just a little weird! haha We did a little more finding and then had dinner and saw the Canada's for a brief exchange and then saw Ed and Che Che again and taught her about the Word of Wisdom to help her quit smoking.
Saturday-Saw Mike again to make sure he would be coming to church. And then found some other new investigators that we challenged for baptism and had pray about the Book of Mormon on the spot! They know it's true but whether or not they do something about it is up to them! Elder Alspaugh had to go to the doctor for a pre existing condition then we saw the Canadas and put one of the kids on date for next Sunday. He's just got to get permission from his dad!
Sunday-We had Church. Mike came which was really good to see him there. The Canadas came too! Well everyone but the kids who are eligible for baptism.. The Mendoza's didn't come though! Not sure why yet. After church we went to a birthday party for someone the sisters are teaching and then to a baptism they were having.
Overall it was a pretty good week! We will be on bikes next week so that'll be a party.
